“When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you.” (Luke 10:5-6
I am on vacation at my sister’s new home. She and her husband had many problems with its construction. I love that this verse appeared while I was there. Every day I am here, I have prayed, “Peace to this house.” Since my sister promotes peace, the peace will rest on her, her family and her home.
Every time we enter someone else’s home, we should pray, “Peace to this house,” honoring those showing us hospitality. This Bible verse tells us to spread God’s love in this way.
Father God, it is easy to spread love to those showing us hospitality. Help to rid me of my spirit of timidity and love those who care for me by offering to pray with them. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
My dear sister, this Bible verse was perfect for you and for me today. I love that it came up when you were here! Thank you for praying for this house, I do too. I feel so much peace now, while you are here. Most days, I feel peace here. It is a huge change from when I was praying for the enemy to leave here because he was not welcome. I look out the windows and sit on the front or back porch and the beautiful scenery helps put my heart at peace. I am sad that you depart tomorrow. You will be missed, but we have the next visit to look forward too. Thank you for being brave and asking to pray together. It was beautiful and we should make a point of praying when we are together and we are talking on the phone. It will help us be closer in Christ’s love. I love you, Jody and I treasure you and our relationship.
Thanks, our visit has been a huge blessing for me too. Please continue to pray that I lose my spirit of timidity. It does not come from God. It is difficult for me to pray with people because the enemy always tells me, “people don’t care what you think.” I am so thankful you are able to feel peace in your home now. I look forward to your visit in October.
I will pray. Heavenly Father, please be with, Jody. Show Jody that her words are important. You have chosen her to be Your Shepard, and spread Your word. That is a great gift indeed. Guide her to those that need You, and have their hearts and minds open to Your word. Guide her to those who do not understand what is missing in their hearts and need to know the word of God. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Thank you for that prayer. It means a lot. I want everyone to experience God’s love and peace. You also make a great difference in the lives God has given you.
