I was born into an ordinary middle-class family. At an early age, my father taught me that my opinions didn’t matter. (Although in his later years he had a closer relationship with God, and our relationship became closer, too.) At that time my older sisters didn’t consider me fun to be around, and I started to believe them. I was often depressed and painfully shy. My mother was my saving grace because she wrapped her arms of love around me. We went to church almost every Sunday, yet I never knew until I was 16 that I could have a personal relationship with God. I learned this when a High School friend invited me to a different church. I asked Jesus to be my Lord that day, and I received the power of the Holy Spirit, which dramatically changed my life. As the daughter of God, I had worth. I became less shy, made more friends (including my sister, Pam), and for the first time in my life, I was happy.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Sam, for 33 years, and am the mother of 3 awesome grown children, Jennifer (engaged to Diego), Rebecca (married to Parker), and Sam, jr. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida in 1984, and I have had a fulfilling career as a Physical Therapist. Sam and I met at University of Florida soon after he graduated with his Juris Doctorate Degree. My children are also graduates of the University of Florida, and we’re avid Gator fans. Sam and I reside in Ocala, Florida, and attend Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. I have recently retired from Physical Therapy and have more time to write. My novel, “Denial of the Enemy,” is in its final stages and being edited by my daughter, Jennifer. I am also working on a series of Children’s Picture, Learn-to-Read Books, “Al’fun’bet Angels.” Because I want to deepen my relationship with God, I am an avid Bible Studier. I want to encourage and be encouraged by others who wish to be closer to God, so I am starting this Bible Study/Blog. Welcome!
