SOAP Daily Devotional Acts 26:27-29 – Do you know the power and peace of the Holy Spirit? – Free online Bible study – Commentary in easy English – Day 687

King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know you do.” Then King Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?” Paul replied, “Short time or long—I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.” (Acts 26:27-29)

Don’t you love to watch happily-ever-after movies about royalty—especially when the commoner love interest becomes a prince or princess? God created us to be crowned into his holy family and live in the mansion he’s preparing for us.

On Judgment Day King Agrippa’s crown will vanish when he stands naked before Jesus, but Paul immediately will receive one. Paul’s royal status is God-given.

You’re most likely a Christian if you’re reading a devotional. But can you say to a king or those you think live perfect lives, “I pray to God that you may become what I am?”

Jesus wants to take your guilt and solve your problems. Have you asked him? Get rid of your chains. Know the power and peace of the Holy Spirit, and you will receive joy.

Father, I praise You for adopting me into Your family. I’m sorry for not loving all the time as I should. Forgive me and take my guilt. I trust you to solve my problems. Take my worry and help me realize you have the answers. Give me the power of the Holy Spirit to break the chains I’ve imprisoned myself in. And help me know the abundant life you’ve planned for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

  1. There is great power and peace in the Holy Spirit. I bet we can’t even begin to imagine how much better it gets as we go to Christ and Heaven. I am working on giving Jesus my guilt and my problems. Prayers for you today. Blessings, Sis.
