Daily Devotional Acts 22:9-10 – How can I have a personal relationship with Jesus – Part 2 – Free online Bible study – Commentary in easy English – Day 653

“My companions saw the light, but they did not understand the voice of him who was speaking to me. ‘What shall I do, Lord?’ I asked. (Acts 22:9-10)

Yesterday we learned that Jesus summons an individual to have a personal relationship with him and tells them who He is.

Your special relationship with Jesus doesn’t include anyone else. Paul’s companions couldn’t understand Jesus’ voice because His words were only for Paul.

Most conversions aren’t as dramatic as Paul’s. Many times Jesus’ Spirit finds us sitting on a park bench admiring His creation or crafting a painting, a story, a song, a wood project, etc.

When the Holy Spirit draws us from our world into His bond of love, we should ask, “What shall I do, Lord?” And repeat those words each day to include Him in our planning.

Father, I praise You for calling me into Your kingdom. Continue revealing to me who You are. What shall I do Lord? Help me understand your voice. Fill me with the power of Your Holy Spirit so I can glorify You. Keep me and my loved ones safe and bind us closer to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

  1. What shall I do Lord? This should be part of our daily prayer. But, somehow I feel if it is important enough, The Holy Spirit will let us know what to do, whether we pray about it or not. How fortunate we are the The Holy Spirit is within us at our invitation! Jody, blessings to you and our families as we journey through our day.
