Bible Study Devotional – Day 28 – Commentary Romans 5:17-19 – October 17, 2018

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ? Consequently, just as the result of the one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.  For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.  (Romans 5:17-19)

If we don’t have hope in Jesus Christ, then our hope is in mankind, whose genealogy comes from Adam. Then, we have inherited death and all that leads up to it; emptiness, loneliness, and depression.  But if we have hope in Jesus Christ, God’s grace and righteousness will prevail 100% in our lives and give us everything that brings life; love, happiness, and peace.

If you’re a Christian and feeling the symptoms of death today, Jesus is up in heaven crying over you.  Hear Him, say, “I died on the cross for you not so that you could feel sad, inadequate, and lost.  ‘I came to give life with joy and abundance. I am the good shepherd.’ (John 10:10b-11a)  If you were the only person on Earth, I still would have died on the cross just for you.  That’s how much I love you!  God knows your problems and your hurts, and He sent me to help you.  I’m working behind the scenes, and the Holy Spirit will give you the power to get through this.  Please trust me and have faith, then we can do our best work.  Soon you will feel love, happiness, and peace again.” I am praying for you!
