The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness, for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. (Romans 4:23-25).
Good morning! These two verses are important, life changing! The Old Testament isn’t just a book of stories. It was written for you! God didn’t just choose Abraham to become righteous so that they could be friends. God is choosing you to be His friend, too! He wants you to believe in Him and that he is sovereign, all-powerful to raise Jesus our Lord from the dead and to create the universe from His words, “Let there be,” and the result, “there was.” God’s words to us (that God wrote through people), the Bible, is the most important book you can read. All that Abraham had, the promises and the indwelling of the Spirit are yours or can be when you believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. What could be more encouraging than having God as a friend?
