Blog – Day 3 – With God guiding us, we can overcome difficult situations with joy

Life happens and not always in a pretty way!  We have all tried to get through tough situations in our lives without God. He sits up in heaven with tears pouring down His cheeks watching us make one mistake after another, waiting for us to ask Him for help, but we don’t. We forget that he knows how to solve our problems with ease, and we accuse Him of abandoning us when it is we who have abandoned Him.  God will not interfere in our lives unless we ask Him to. “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.  Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. (John 16:24) He promises that when we ask him to help us get through life’s difficulties, that he will not only help us, he will give us joy while we are going through our difficulties.  I had one problem after another in my life when I suppressed God’s truth.  I went through divorce, financial problems, horrible living situations, almost failed out of college, etc., etc., etc.  I was under Gods wrath because I didn’t trust Him and ask Him for help.  It usually isn’t until we reach our all-time lows that we ask God for help, so he lets us get to that point.  I finally asked God for help and have kept asking Him.  Since he now protects me because I ask, my life is relatively problem-free.  I have small problems, but I no longer have major problems.  I encourage you to ask God to help you solve your problems! He will!  Please share with us how God has helped you solve or get through a problem or difficult situation.

  1. We forget that He is with us every second of everyday. We need to remember to take everything to him…our joys, sorrows, frustrations, problems. We are his children, He loves us and he listens to our prayers.

    1. Pam, Thank you for your encouraging comment. God created us and loves us more than we love our own children. We can and should be joyful all the time because the grace (gifts and blessings) that God gives us far outweigh the crosses that we bear (see Day 24 devotional — Day 25 too which I haven’t yet posted.) Not only should we take everything to Him, He also wants us to ask in prayer for what we need. “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9) This is how we come to know God and to be His friend. We need is His wisdom. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” It is encouraging to be able to go to our heavenly Father when we screw up, ask for his wisdom, and know He won’t find any fault in us. He wants to be our loving shepherd. Know that I’m praying for you. Thanks!
