They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along. (Galatians 2:9b-10)
Authors write and market to a target audience. The goal of my novel in progress is to show God’s love to 18-25-year-old women who have turned away from God. If I can reach one of these, my years of writing will be worthwhile.
Paul ministered to Gentiles, spending endless hours caring for those the other apostles wouldn’t reach. Jesus blessed Paul with his presence and revelations because he knew Paul would be faithful and pass his message.
Our ministries will be more significant when we focus on people of certain ages, economic standing, gender, religion, or interests. If we try to care for everyone, we won’t connect deeply enough to make a difference.
In addition to our ministries, we should give to the poor. When we bless others, God will bless us.
Father, I praise you for trusting me with a ministry. Assist me in loving my small group and being faithful to you. Put an organization or a person on my heart today and show me what they need. Keep my loved ones and me safe today, and bind us closer to you. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
In the past I have always been reluctant to minister to anyone. It is the shy part of me that makes this hard. I also felt those feelings were very personal. God knows my limitations and understands me. I do try harder now if the opportunity arises, where before I ignored. I also try to help people in need. Especially at Christmas when children can be left out.
Praying for both of us, and our families for protection and good health.
Helping people in need is also ministering. We were taught to keep our mouths shut when it came to religion so we didn’t offend anyone. That is why it is hard for us to talk about Jesus. But He has changed my life so much for the better, I want everyone to know how much Jesus loves them. Love you, Sis.
