You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus. (Acts 20:20-21)
Paul summarizes the Christian life with two words—repentance and faith. Turning to God requires both. Notice Paul uses faith instead of belief. Many Christians are in a constant state of believing but not doing. They live anxious, fearful, and sometimes boring lives, not having faith that God will deliver them from their problems through Jesus. They don’t step out in faith to do God’s will and/or pass on their anxiety, instead of God’s love, to their family and friends.
Do as Paul did and evaluate your life through repentance and faith. Pray, move forward, and trust God. Be happy working through your problems knowing God will arrange the best possible outcome. Take a risk knowing that God is with you. Live the incredible and joyful life God has in store for you.
Father, I praise you for being trustworthy. Thank you for helping me work through my problems and providing the best possible outcomes. Help me move forward with joy. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
