Then they (Paul and Silas) spoke the word of the Lord to him (the jailer) and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night (past midnight) the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household. (Acts 16:32-34)
A new day began at midnight for Paul and Silas. Wounds, although fresh, were placed in the past, and Paul and Silas rejoiced. Their God was and is almighty, freeing, healing, loving, and forgiving. The earth quaked. It freed Paul, Silas, and the prisoners, but everyone remained in their cells because of Paul’s and Silas’ love.
It was also a new day for the jailer and his family. They were also freed as Paul and Silas spoke the word of the Lord to them. The jailer learned that God would heal him, freeing him from his callous and cruel spirit. He likely beat his family and household staff. I can imagine how happy his household was witnessing the jailer affectionately tending to Paul’s and Silas’ wounds. I’m sure they sang as Paul and Silas sang, praising God, in the middle of the night while being baptized, learning more about God, and preparing a meal for Paul and Silas.
When we witness God’s love, our lives change radically. We can be the one’s spreading God’s love, as Paul and Silas did, so others’ lives will change also.
Father God, I praise you for Your love that frees us through Your son. Help me to spread Your love and change the lives of others. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Personally knowing God’s love is beautiful and life changing. I think about missionaries, ministers and youth ministers and the opportunities they have to show and teach God’s love. Love and blessings, Jody.
You are so right, personally getting to know God is beautiful and life changing. I want everyone to know how loving God is. I pray for opportunities to show and teach God’s love apart from my website. I love you, Sis. Blessings.
