Acts 7:20-22 – Will God set up circumstances and meet your needs so you can do His will?

At that time Moses was born, and he was no ordinary child. For three months he was cared for by his family. When he was placed outside, Pharaoh’s daughter took him and brought him up as her own son. Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action. (Acts 7:20-22)

In Genesis 15:13 God told Abraham the Israelites would be enslaved in Egypt for 400 years. His plan for their exodus from Egypt began included Moses. When he was born, Pharaoh had ordered all Jewish male babies to be thrown into the Nile River. Moses’ mother hid him for three months, tarred the bottom of a basket, and placed the basket in the tall grass that grew on the bank of the Nile. Pharaoh’s daughter found him and raised him as her son. It wasn’t a coincidence that baby Moses hadn’t drowned in the Nile or that Pharaoh’s daughter found him. God set up those circumstances.

Even though Moses was well educated, he was overwhelmed when God called him to lead the Jews out of Israel. He didn’t have faith God would make him powerful in speech and action, so he begged God for someone to help him. God answered his prayer and sent his brother Aaron, but God showed Moses that with the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit, he could do anything God asked.

When God asks us to do something, he will enable us to do it through setting up circumstances and giving us great power through His Holy Spirit.

Father God, I praise You for the wisdom, the power, and the gifts Your Holy Spirit has given me. Let me have confidence to do all You ask of me, knowing you will enable me to do Your will. Help me break down the project you’ve been nudging me to do into smaller ones and help me get started today. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

  1. I believe that if God has something specific He wants me to do, He will nudge me. That has happened before and I did what He wanted me to do. I just hope that I recognize when God is asking me to do something specific. I am praying this morning for you and your family.

    1. It sounds like you recognize His nudges, so I’m sure you will recognize when He wants you to do something specific. Thanks so much for your prayers. I also prayed for you and your family. Blessings and love, Jody
