But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.” At daybreak they entered the temple courts, as they had been told, and began to teach the people. (Acts 5:19-21)
My novel, Denial of the Enemy, shows Jesus’ overwhelming love for us and the power of the Gospel to redeem lives. I believe God has placed this story in my mind and heart to tell others about having a personal relationship with Jesus and to work through me to bring others to Himself.
Six weeks ago my husband retired, and we moved back home, so I had to change my Word Weavers (a Christian writing group) membership to Ocala. One of the members of that chapter didn’t attend in person due to COVID, so I was assigned to critique her work online. I complained to my husband because I didn’t want to spend the extra time. But my new friend also had to critique my work, and she is one of the best editors I have come across. What I thought was an inconvenience was God placing an important person in my life.
Don’t give up the dreams and passion God placed in your heart. God gave Peter supernatural gifts to speak publicly and perform miracle healings. He sent angels to release the apostles from jail, and he placed the apostles in the lives of people whom God wanted to bring to Himself. In return the apostles were faithful to Him and entered the temple courts to teach the people. This story is God telling you He will also give you miracles, spiritual gifts, the right people, and even send angels to make your aspirations a reality when you are faithful to Him.
Dearest Heavenly Father, I praise You for loving me as much as You love the apostles and using me to spread Your love and tell others about Jesus. I know you will send miracles, give me spiritual gifts, and place angels and the right people in my life to fulfill the dreams You’ve placed in my heart. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
