Acts 2:18-21 – How do you pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit?

Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Acts 2:18-21)

God doesn’t differentiate us by the color of our skin, gender, or position in life. He’ll pour out the gifts of His Holy Spirit on everyone. Many will prophesy. Prophesying is making clear something God says, not necessarily telling the future. Someone with the gift of prophecy may make something in the Bible easier to understand.

During this period of the church, we will see wonders in the heavens. Just last month NASA’s Perseverance Rover landed on Mars. NASA’s TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) searches for planets that may support life outside our solar system. God allows this research to happen. There will be blood and fire and billows of smoke. Our peaceful demonstrations are turning bloody as police cars and buildings are set on fire. There have been many recent wildfires. When we see the sun turn dark and the moon turn red, we can expect to see Jesus return from heaven. At that time, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

God is pouring out His Spirit. He has gifts, wisdom, and power He wants to give you. But in order to receive His Spirit, we must ask for it. Yes, the Spirit is in all Christians, but the filling with the Spirit is different from the baptism of the Spirit. We need to be refilled with God’s Spirit every day.

Dearest Heavenly Father, thank You for the gifts of Your Spirit and giving them to me as I need them to fulfill my dreams. Fill me with the outpouring of Your Holy Spirit full of wisdom and power to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

  1. I am confused as your numbers are all changed around. If I accidently skip something let me know. I am praying for good health for all of us and God’s healing power to restore us.

    1. Sorry Sis. I am trying to organize my website so that people not doing the daily devotionals can do the Bible studies and find them easily. That’s why I created the new category Free Bible Studies. Unfortunately I forgot to change the category from Daily Devotional to Bible Study Acts and it ended up in the wrong place. I was the one who was confused. Lol. I also prayed for you and your family. The one in our family who is pregnant is getting sicker. Please pray for her also. Thanks. Blessings, Jody
