Daily Devotional Acts 5:33-35 – Can God solve my problems? – Free Online Bible Study – Commentary in easy English – Day 488

When they heard this (that the apostles would obey God and not them and continue to teach about Jesus), the high council was furious and decided to kill them. But one member, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, who was an expert in religious law and respected by all the people stood up and ordered that the men be sent outside the council chamber for a while. Then he said to his colleagues, “Men of Israel, take care what you are planning to do to these men! (Acts 5:33-35)

Sometimes the odds don’t seem good to be promoted, have the means to reach a goal, obtain the money to pay the mortgage, or avoid a crisis. But God is much bigger than all the world’s problems. When we pray, God will put the right people and conditions in our lives to fulfill the desires God placed in our hearts. When we help others solve their problems, work hard and do all we can to solve our own problems, God will do what we can’t.

The apostles had a burning desire to tell others about Jesus. They taught at the temple, obeying God. God knew the apostles would face a crisis, so He placed Gamaliel on the Sanhedrin. He had been Paul’s teacher when Paul trained to become a Pharisee. (Acts 22:3) Gamaliel was the only man of seventy-one judges who didn’t want to kill the apostles, yet, through God, his influence stopped their execution.

Pray about your problems, and do what you can to solve them on your own. If someone you know has a problem, be the answer to their prayer. The Holy Spirit has the power to enter spirits and change minds. When you trust God with your problems, he will find a way to solve them.

Father God, I praise you for being my refuge, and I thank you for solving my problems. Let me pay my blessings forward and be part of the army You work through to help others. Show me one whom I can help through the power of the Holy Spirit. I pray in Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.
