Daily Devotional Acts 3:21-23 – Will God restore the world? – Free Online Bible Study – Commentary in easy English – Day 463

“Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets. For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.’” Acts 3:21-23.

These words of Moses were recorded in Deuteronomy. It is interesting to note Moses also said in that Scripture that the Israelites asked God, “Let us not hear the voice of the Lord our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.” Exodus 13:21-22 tells us that the Lord guided the Israelites out of Egypt. By day God guided them in a pillar of cloud by day and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light. God never left them. God put the longing in the hearts of the Israelites and ours to know God in a more personal way.

God sent Jesus as the Word. His words are our instruction of how to be with God on earth and live life abundantly and peacefully, so we must listen. If we don’t listen, we will be cut off from God. Don’t fear your loved ones won’t be in heaven, though. We know from Scripture that God is a God of many chances. Jesus will come again and speak to the dead. They will see Him face to face and those who listen will live. (John 5:25) God will restore everything as He promised.

Father God, I praise you for the gifts you’ve given me, especially the gift of grace. You give me hope the world will be restored. Help me hear Your words as I study the Bible and put them to use today. Help me love everyone I come in contact with. In Jesus precious name, I pray, amen.

  1. It is comforting to know that God is a God of many chances. It is also comforting to know that Jesus will talk to the dead. I believe that grace is one of the best gifts that Heavenly Father gives to us.

    1. Thanks for your comment. I missed it after you wrote it. I am trying to look very carefully for your comments as I have received many over the last few days (about 140 in the last 24 hours) and yours are getting lost since they are pre-approved. Grace is wonderful. I feel peace and joy since I am forgiven! He says He will talk to the dead, but so many ignore that verse or say He only talks to dead Christians. But he loves us all. Thanks so much for your support and comments. You are a blessing to me. I love you! Jody
