Acts 2:5-8 – Does God equip the called?/What is my calling?

Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all of these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?” (Acts 2:5-8)

A long time ago God put in my heart to write a new, fun curriculum for elementary school children. It’s a dream I can’t accomplish by myself. I’m not a teacher or a seamstress. I’ve tried the seamstress thing a few times, and it’s definitely not a spiritual gift. If it truly is something God wants me to do, He will put people in my life who have the same dream in their heart and the gifts needed to accomplish the dream.

It was God’s will for the apostles to spread God’s love to the world, letting them know Jesus died for everyone to have freedom and peace. He chose twelve apostles because there is strength in small groups. Also, he gave them wisdom, and showed them travel was possible without worldly possessions. Throughout the three years of Jesus’ ministries, they developed close contacts with people who would help. Now God gave the Galileans the spiritual gift of  speaking in foreign tongues to communicate with the world.

God chooses each of us for a mission. Perhaps you’ve suppressed a dream because you thought it was impossible or your time hasn’t yet come because God has been using you to help family members or others. But if you pray about it, God will show you the mission He has in store for you even if it’s in your future. Then, He will give you a miracle that places the right people and supernatural gifts in your life to fulfill your dream.

Father God, make Your will clear to me. I want to see my dream even if it can’t be accomplished today. I‘m Your disciple, part of the body of Christ You started on this first Pentecost day. Show me how you want me to help spread Your love to children or adults so they want Jesus as their Savior. In Christ’s name I pray, amen.

  1. Hi there excellent blog! Does running a blog like this take a
lot of work? I have absolutely no knowledge of computer programming however I
was hoping to start my own blog in the near future.
Anyway, if you have any recommendations or tips for
new blog owners please share. I understand this is off subject but
I just wanted to ask. Many thanks! 0mniartist asmr

    1. It is a lot of work to post original content sometimes doing research and thinking of or finding a good story (which I don’t always have time to do if I keep posting every day. I am writing a novel, so I need to work on that too. I prayed for you and your family, and I hope you come back. Blessings, Jody
