Daily Devotional Acts 2:22-23 – What does the Bible say about God’s perfect plan? – Free Online Bible Study – Commentary in easy English – Day 449

Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. (Acts 2:22-23).

I thought I had a plan to write a book in a couple of years. God interfered with my plan. He wanted to give me wisdom along the way and make sure I had the knowledge to write a book so someone would read it. It has been a journey of more than five years.

God’s plans are perfect. He used the sinfulness of mankind for His plan of salvation that He made before He created the universe. He knew Judas would betray Jesus, Peter would deny him, and that Pilate’s soldiers would nail Him to the cross. The cross was God’s plan to overlay the worst of mankind with the best of God. So, who was responsible for the death of our Savior? The answer is we all are responsible for Jesus’ death because he died for every person’s sin, but it doesn’t matter because our sin is forgiven.

God designed us to need a Savior, so we would turn to Jesus, and God authenticated Him through the miracles and wonder Jesus brought and through the signs and fulfillment of Old Testament Scripture. God’s plan for Jesus to take all our sins to the cross and dispose of them showed his deep love for us. No one deserves that kind of forgiveness. At least people don’t forgive others in such a way.

Dearest Father in heaven, I praise you because through Your deliberate plans and foreknowledge, you know what’s best for me. Thank you for forgiving me and being my refuge. Let Your plans for me be my plans. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen

  1. In God’s infinite wisdom He knows what is best for us. He has a plan for us. When things are difficult in our lives it is hard to understand why God would allow difficulties to hurt and harm us. For some reason these problems are part of our plan. Or does our free will create a situation that God never intended? Sometimes we know immediately why something has happened . Sometimes it takes a long time to see why a door closes and another opens. Maybe we won’t have answers until we go to Heaven.
