Jesus stopped and ordered the man (the blind beggar who asked for mercy) to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see,” he replied. Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God. (Luke 18:40-42)
I like to listen to Joel Osteen. His positive preaching and faith give me hope and joy. When the Osteen’s ask God for something, they receive it because they are dependent on Jesus for wisdom, love, and mercy. Both Joel’s mother and sister have experienced miracle healings from life-threatening disease. Their faith heals them.
When mercy is needed, Jesus orders us to come and bring others to him. He’ll always receive us because He’s devoted to showing mercy and love. The wrongs the enemy and our hearts have chosen for us in the past are forgiven. God asks this blind man to tell Him his wants, not his needs, because the wants we ask for show our hearts. When we receive what we’ve asked for, our faith increases. It is faith that heals us. God will always help us, but He won’t save us until we have faith in Jesus. Jesus heals our blindness to God’s love and mercy. If you haven’t experienced that, ask for it. You’ll receive new sight, and your faith will heal you. God will save you, and you can follow Jesus with freedom and joy. Praise be to God.
Dearest Heavenly Father, I praise you above heaven and earth. Thank you for answering my prayers. Some seem silly, but you grant my requests to increase my faith and show Your love. Continue to increase my sight by showing Your goodness and will for my life. Let my faith and your mercy heal my heart and body. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
When I found out that I had breast cancer it changed my whole being instantly. There was fear at first. I felt better after I had the surgery to remove the cancer. Then the biopsy came back and they did not get clear margins. The Dr. explained that my breast was full of small tumors that could not be removed unless I had a total mastectomy. He said this is where we need to have faith that the radiation will kill all the cancer cells that remain. From the time I found out that I had cancer to this point of having radiation, I prayed for healing. I felt peoples prayers for me. It was far from over and there were still so many prayers to be said, but I believed that Jesus would heal me because he had more for me to do on earth. I am at 5 years now and so grateful for the outcome. Thank you, Jesus for healing me and your mercy! When prayers are answered it increases faith.
