Daily Devotional Luke 12:11-12 – Does the Holy Spirit speak through us? – Online Bible Study – Easy English Bible Commentary – Day 273

“When you are brought into the synagogues before the leaders and other powerful people, don’t worry about how to defend yourself or what to say. At that time the Holy Spirit will teach you what you must say.” (Luke 12:11-12)

Susan Neal, RN, MHS, MBA is a friend, yoga instructor, health coach, and author of Seven Steps to Get off Sugar and Carbohydrates. She helps people reclaim their health by resolving negative eating habits and incorporating God into a healthy lifestyle. When she speaks, I feel peaceful and loved. I feel as if the Holy Spirit is speaking to me.

Although every Christian has been baptized by the Holy Spirit, we learned in Luke 11:13 that we should ask God to top us off with the Spirit every day. The more we ask for the Holy Spirit, the more we are filled with power to fulfill God’s purpose. The Spirit will filter our words so we speak with love. As we continue this practice, our relationship with the Holy Spirit will deepen. Then, if the time comes when we are persecuted, the words of the Holy Spirit will flow naturally from our mouths as they did from the mouths of the apostles.

Dearest Father in heaven, Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Let the Spirit’s power help me fulfil my purpose and show Your love. Speak through me so I touch the hearts of others with Your words. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
