Day 1 – Romans 1:1-8 – August 20, 2018

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God – the gospel He promised beforehand through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to his human nature was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead:  Jesus Christ our Lord.  Through Him and for His name’s sake, we received grace and apostleship to call people from among all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith.  And you also are among those who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.  To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be Saints:  Grace and peace to you from God our father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.  First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.

You are called to belong to Jesus.  He loves you more than any human being can, so much that He subjected himself to torture and death on the cross for you and me, all of us.  The Bible is an incredible book, my favorite.  It’s full of mysteries, promises from God, and God’s wisdom to help us live life happily.  I’m glad you’re taking this journey through the book of Romans with me, and I’m dedicated to praying for your needs and helping you see, through the study of Romans, why Jesus died on the cross for you and how God can change your life!  I pray that through blogging we can mutually encourage each other.

I must get ahead of myself and reveal the most important of God’s mysteries – how to become righteous in the sight of God and how to have a relationship with Him as His child.  It is simple and best stated in Romans 10:9: “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  God loves when we pray directly from the Bible and have faith in His Word.  So if you feel yourself being called by God, go out on the limb of faith and pray this prayer:  “God, I believe that Jesus is Lord, and I want Him to be my Lord. I believe in my heart that you raised him from the dead. Now I know through your Word that I am saved and will go to heaven and be with you.  Thank you for loving me and being my Father, my Daddy.”  There are so many benefits to praying this prayer, and we will discover them through this Bible Study.  But know that you have tremendous worth! You are the precious child of the Almighty God.  You can ask Him through prayer to protect you, provide a refuge for you, and to meet all of your needs according to His will.
